On Monday, Premier Shehbaz Sharif touched down in Bishkek to commence a three-day formal diplomatic visit following an invitation extended by the Head of State of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov, according to a declaration released by the Prime Minister’s Office.
The head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, personally received the Pakistani leader upon his landing at the Manas International Airport situated within Bishkek, the announcement further stated.
Throughout this diplomatic stay running from August 31 until September 2, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) assembly, outlining the Pakistani administration’s perspectives on numerous localized and international matters, per the details broadcasted by the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Prime Minister is traveling alongside a high-level delegation including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar, and multiple high-ranking state bureaucrats during this international journey.
In a preceding official release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the Premier is slated to engage in the SCO Plus Summit discussions where he will formally take over Pakistan’s rotating leadership position for the SCO Council of Heads of State for the 2026-2027 term.
Concurrently with the SCO scheduling, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to conduct one-on-one sessions with heads of state from collaborating nations. The premier is additionally set to take part in the inaugural festivities of the World Nomad Games on August 31.
By September 2, the prime minister will engage in two-way consultative dialogues with President Zhaparov spanning the absolute range of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan ties, per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
