OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney is slated to encounter his counterpart within the United Kingdom for the primary occasion.
The Prime Minister’s Office states Carney will encounter Andy Burnham inside Liverpool throughout a three-day journey toward Europe slated to commence on Tuesday, and the two chiefs will analyze Canada-U.K. relations on defence and security, energy, artificial intelligence and critical minerals.
The Canadian chief congratulated Burnham after the U.K. prime minister assumed office on July 20, Carney’s office stated at the hour, but this will be the primary occasion the two world chiefs encounter in person.
Burnham constitutes the United Kingdom’s fourth prime minister inside four years after a revolving gateway within the country’s top office has witnessed former Conservative chiefs Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak, and former Labour chief Keir Starmer, struggle to preserve the job.
