DUBAI: Iran remains yet checking a US answer to its plan about opening again the Strait of Hormuz and will reply to Washington through middlemen when the check remains over, foreign office speaker Esmaeil Baghaei expressed on Monday.

Baghaei likewise informed a news meeting that Iran moves on to trade notes through middlemen, without expanding. Qatar and Pakistan, among alternate ones, have performed as go-betweens in actions to close the war that launched with US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28.

After a June temporary truce fell apart and short strikes restarted, Iran gave its plan in middle September and later verified getting a US answer. But the path keeps since stuck, with Iran’s safety chief saying on Sunday that Washington’s answer failed to enough cover Tehran’s seven rules for opening again the Strait of Hormuz and returning to talks.

A primary point of clash keeps been Washington’s demand on covering Iran’s nuclear path from the start. Tehran says talks should initially focus on opening again the Strait of Hormuz, which before the war held near a fifth of global trade in oil and liquid natural gas (LNG), and returning safety in the water track.
