An Ontario household that travels to the Pacific Rim each summer expresses they were stunned when they were billed over $350 in hand-luggage fees for three mountain bike helmets on their return transit back from Vancouver.
Shelley Watson, of Minesing, a community precisely northwest of Barrie, expressed in a conversation with journalists that her household was coming back from a mountain cycling excursion on a flight with Flair Airlines when they were billed $358 in hand-luggage fees for three bike helmets, and have done so in the past and have not been billed.
The household, who traveled with Flair Airlines from Toronto to Vancouver when their excursion commenced, express they were not billed the hundreds of dollars worth of fees for the helmets for that flight.
Watson expressed they perpetually carry their helmets on their excursions and have not been billed previously.
“Typically we transport them and they actually fit under our seat with our personal pieces and that is what we have perpetually done,” Watson expressed.
“I was irate. I was really irate and thwarted… It’s never ever been expressed that this was a dilemma. They fit under the seats, they are never a dilemma.”
When Watson protested to Flair Airlines, she expresses she was informed billing hand-luggage fees remains at the judgment of the worker at the aerodrome.
