Uganda’s top army leader, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has shared the news about catching a man who is blamed for murdering

and eating 38 people over a 15-year time frame. The general said this man will face an open court case in front of the public and

will be put to death if the court decides he is guilty. The captured man, whose name is Moses Mujurizi, is said to have done these

awful killings between the years 2010 and 2025 inside the specific areas of Masaka, Ibanda, and Kazo.

In an online message posted on the social media platform X on Monday, October 26, Kainerugaba called Mujurizi one of the most

terrible serial killers and body-eaters in the history of the country. “I am happy to tell our people that the police and army have

caught the wicked Mujurizi Moses. He is the most awful serial killer and cannibal that Uganda has ever seen,” the general wrote

online.

“He took the lives of 38 people and ate them from 2010 to 2025 in the towns of Masaka, Ibanda, and Kazo. We are going to put

him on trial in front of everyone and we will certainly execute him,” the military leader added in his message.

These serious blame statements against the man come at the same time as police are re-opening old cases and looking into a string

of past murders in the Greater Masaka region. In those older police papers and past news reports, journalists used to talk about a

wanted serial killer named Fred Mujulizi, who also goes by the secret name Kulaish Kamugisha.

Kainerugaba also put up a picture showing the captured suspect wearing handcuffs and gave a strong warning to any other

murderers out there.
