MISSISSAUGA, ON – The Canadian Arab International Foundation (CAIF) held its annual recognition event, “Flames of Appreciation 2026”, here the other day at the Hazel McCallion Central Library.
The ceremony was organized to honour supporters and volunteers for their contributions to CAIF’s “Mothers of the Flame 1” initiative.
Barrister Najam Naqvi was among the invited guests at the gathering. During the ceremony, Ammar Rizvi was presented with a CAIF Certificate of Appreciation by Member of Parliament for Mississauga Centre, Mr. Faras Al Soud, in recognition of his support for the foundation.

The event brought together community leaders, dignitaries, and members of the Canadian Arab community. Guests had the opportunity to learn about CAIF’s ongoing programs focused on education, development, inclusion and creativity, and to engage in dialogue about community service.
MP Faras Al Soud also met with attendees and participated in a group photograph with community leaders in front of the CAIF banner.

Canada-Arab relations encompass growing diplomatic, trade, and cultural ties with the Arab world, highlighted by a historic economic partnership with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), expanding engagement with Saudi Arabia, and a large, vibrant Arab diaspora within Canada.

Canada’s growing economic and diplomatic partnerships with Arab nations, notably Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, are driving regional prosperity through major trade agreements, multi-billion-dollar investments, and technology cooperation.
During a historic visit to Jeddah in July 2026, Canadian leadership and Saudi officials signed 13 commercial agreements and MOUs valued at over $1 billion spanning mining, infrastructure, and health technology.
Canada and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have enjoyed positive relations for over 50 years, grounded in shared interests in achieving economic growth, diversifying their economies, enhancing regional and international security, and establishing the foundations for global peace.
Addressing the gathering, Sarah Khaled, Founder, Executive Director and Event Producer of CAIF, thanked all supporters and emphasized the organization’s commitment to building unity and creating a lasting impact within the community. She noted that the event’s theme, “Igniting change. Building community. Creating a lasting impact,” reflects CAIF’s mission.
The “Flames of Appreciation” ceremony underscored CAIF’s role in bringing together elected officials and community members to recognize service and strengthen collaboration.
