LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar completed her nikah today, marking a special family event at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence.
The gathering was attended by close relatives and invited family guests, keeping the event focused around the family.
Mahnoor’s nikah has been set with Azan Jabbar, the son of businessman Jabbar Khalid.
Three-time former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz were among the guests of the gathering.
PM Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and other famous personalities also attended the wedding gathering at Jati Umra.
The wedding comes only days after Mahnoor finished her degree in Anthropology from SOAS University of London.
Earlier this month, CM Maryam travelled to the British capital to attend her youngest daughter’s degree event, describing the day as a moment of massive pride and happiness for the family.
Speaking to Geo News at the time, the Punjab chief minister said there could be no bigger source of pride for parents than seeing their children finish their education, adding that all three of her kids had now finished their higher studies.
Mahnoor, the youngest of CM Maryam and Captain Muhammad Safdar’s three children, studied at SOAS University between 2023 and 2026.
The family’s most recent high-profile wedding celebration was that of Mahnoor’s brother, Junaid Safdar, who married Shanzeh Ali Rohale in January.
The multi-day events were held at various places, including the Sharif family’s Jati Umra estate.
