WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump has launched a YouTube channel called “Trump TV.” The White House said Trump tv will broadcast President Trump’s speeches and videos, remain updated in real time and air 24 hours a day. Meanwhile, major US television networks have decided to boycott coverage of President Trump in protest against restrictions barring journalists from three major news organizations from entering the White House.
Fox News Media, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News and CNN issued a joint statement. The statement said it was in the public interest for people to receive accurate and independent information about the government, and that no administration should restrict news organizations merely because they criticize it. The statement was issued after the White House pool said that, starting today, the TV pool would not cover President Trump’s pool coverage and that there would be no alternative to the pool.
Fox News, ABC, CNN and NBC News also announced that they would approach the court against the restrictions under the First Amendment.
