MAKKAH, Saudi Civil Defense activated its early warning system in the holy city of Makkah, Taif and several other major cities amid anticipated attack threats. According to international media, Saudi Public Security and Civil Defense authorities have issued emergency alerts in the coastal cities of Jeddah and Yanbu, as well as Tabuk, following Taif.
Citizens and visitors are being informed about the threat through alert messages to help ensure their safety in case of any emergency.
Saudi Civil Defense has strictly instructed residents of Makkah, Taif and surrounding areas to remain at home and avoid unnecessary travel on the roads.
All relevant security and rescue agencies have been placed on alert to ensure immediate emergency response if required.
The Saudi Civil Defense alert said the area is at risk of air attacks.
It urged people to remain calm, stay indoors in a safe place away from windows and doors, and follow Civil Defense instructions.
