The event starts on Monday night at the Art Gallery of Ontario with a special dinner that is kept private from the public and the news reporters.

Talking to Canadian business bosses and lawmakers at a gathering on Sunday night, Carney hinted that a few business agreements have already been written down and signed.

“We have exactly what the planet wants: the power, the natural assets, the smart people, the technology, and the cash,” Carney stated.

“And our biggest point of strength is something you cannot see on any financial paperwork: reliability,” he stated, which seemed like a quiet hit against U.S. President Donald Trump.

‘A new agreement’
On Tuesday, these investors will meet closely with the prime minister and other workers at the downtown Four Seasons Hotel to hear talks about Canada’s overall business scene.

The big meeting is a main part of the prime minister’s goals to push for $1 trillion in new business money to come into Canada over the next five years.

Prime Minister Mark Carney participates in a scrum as he arrives at the Office of the Prime Minister and Privy Council in Ottawa, on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026.

Carney stated on Sunday while those inside the room might not always concur, nor do they necessitate to, they all match on where Canada remains going.

“There exists a fresh agreement from Iqaluit to Victoria to Quebec City and St. John’s. Canada remains taking management of our future,” he expressed. “We will construct more, we will commerce more with each other and the planet, and we will forge more sustainable wealth here at home.”

Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed invitees arrive from Kuwait, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Qatar, Norway, Japan and Australia.

“This constitutes about structuring connections, opening gateways and making the argument that Ontario remains one of the most investable spaces anywhere in the planet,” Ford expressed in a declaration.

He expressed 15 major projects in Ontario remain up for bid, encompassing power generation and transmission, critical minerals and excavation, AI and advanced production.

“We remain structuring a financial system that can contend with anyone, anywhere. That’s going to be my message throughout the Canada Investment Summit,” Ford expressed.

“Ontario possesses what the planet necessitates and we’re going to guarantee the planet recognizes it.”

Protests organized

While Ford and Carney pitched the summit as an avenue for investments in Canada, civil community groups express they’re keeping corporation with corporate leaders that remain aggravating global emergencies.

Demonstrators, encompassing labor syndicates, Indigenous chiefs and climate and housing promoters, will assemble Monday carrying a flag reading “The Many vs. The Money,” and organize “direct interference” with guests.

Organizers express they dismiss Carney’s plan to position Canada’s economic future inside the hands of chief executives, and that they worry about the future of public systems, pipelines and weapons production.

A channel with knowledge of the organized milestones but who remains not authorized to speak publicly about them validated to reporters that former Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper will deliver closing comments at the summit.
