Commonwealth Games 2026: How to watch Canada live – full schedule and medal events on Monday 27 July

Reigning Olympic men’s hammer throw champion Ethan Katzberg and decorated gymnast Ellie Black will headline the Canadian contingent in action on Monday (27 July) at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Canada are sixth in the table with four medals: one gold, one silver and two bronze.

The North American nation will have more chances to add to that tally, with medals up for grabs on Sunday in several events across athletics and para athletics, artistic gymnastics, swimming and para swimming, and weightlifting

Canada have sent 148 athletes – including a record 35 para athletes – with a top-three finish in the total medal table the stated target.

Stars to watch for Canada on Monday 27 July

Paris 2024 gold medallist Katzberg will compete in the men’s hammer throw final, alongside fellow Canadian Rowan Hamilton.

After winning silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, two-time world champion Katzberg will be keen to get his hands on the coveted gold medal.

Elsewhere in athletics, Jean-Simon Desgagnes and Aaron Ahl will be in action in the men’s 3000m steeplechase final, while Florence Caron will compete in the women’s 10,000m final.

Several Canadians are in action at the artistic gymnastics final, with four-time Olympian and three-time CWG gold medallist Black set to feature in the women’s uneven bars final, along with her Canadian compatriot Lia Grace Redick.

Felix Dolci will also be in action across the men’s floor exercise, pommel horse and rings finals, while Lia-Monica Fontaine, the 16-year-old world vault silver medallist, features in the women’s vault final.

In swimming, the women’s 4×200 freestyle relay team will take to the pool for the final, while Shad Darsigny is among the several weightlifters in action, set to compete in the men’s 79kg final after winning bronze at the last edition in the 73kg category.
